McCallum Fine Arts Academy Premieres Six Ghoultide Scarols, October, 2010

At the invitation of the Academy's Fine Arts Coordinator, Lanier Bayliss, and in cooperation with Carol Nelson, Director of Bands, Jeffrey Rudy, Associate Director of Bands, and Malcom Nelson, Director of Choirs, Thomas Pavlechko conducted the Academy orchestra and choir, premiering six of his twelve Ghoultide Scarols at two Halloween concerts for over 700 students of the McCallum feeder elementary schools. The Scarols were performed in context with the poem "'Twas All Hallows Eve," read by Judy Beglau who co-wrote it with Pavlechko. The enthusiastic audience was quick to understand what a Ghoultide Scarol is, and sang along with very scary gusto!
